Snapshot Stories Workshop

A workshop using reflective writing, meditation and re-envisioning practices

Are you curious about reflective writing practices? Have you said over and over, “I’m going to start to journal,” and gotten stuck in the process? Do you find yourself repeating old patterns, don’t understand why or where they’ve come from? Our pasts hold the key to our future. The stories we have lived, as well as the collective history of our ancestors, are interwoven into our present-day reality. We are our stories. A collection of what was before us and what is in the now moment. During our time together, we will “time travel” and visit our younger selves while remaining curious about our patterns. In a safe and supportive environment, you will be taken on a journey through guided meditation. We will use reflective writing techniques to gain insight and allow space for the photograph to share its deep wisdom. We will gather and re-envision what we want to bring to our future with a refined clarity and a compassionate heart.

A Note of Praise for Snapshot Stories:

“I am reading what I wrote at last nights Snapshot Stories Workshop and feeling so much gratitude for the tender container that Nicole created for exploration. Even after witnessing Nicole’s journey with her own snapshots, I wasn’t sure what to expect and the whole evening far exceeded my expectations. We came together in Sisterhood and laughed, cried and supported each other through unveiling these long lost parts of ourselves and what formed us. Nicole is such a loving, wise and incredible guide in creating safe space, sharing tools and questions for deep inner reflection and then gently inviting us to bring those feelings to life on the page. I feel the powerful medicine that this practice is and what a beautiful addition it can be and look forward to diving deeper on my own as I continue to unravel my own ancestral healing.” ~ Sheree Asdot

NEXT WORKSHOP is January 18th February 15th, 2024 at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Letter Writing Program: Love, Letters, Tea & Comfort

Love, Letters, Tea & Comfort

Did you ever have a pen-pal as a child?

Where you would write and exchange letters through snail mail?

Do you remember the delight when you opened the letter and how special that connection was to you in that moment?

Many of us, have felt the call to slow down, to reflect and to see what matters to us. What this time has brought to me, was a rekindling of my love for letters, kinship and comfort. This past year I had the opportunity to exchange letters with two local women. It was a treat to unfold the paper letter and read their words over a cup of tea. It became a monthly ritual of connection, reflection and love.

As we enter into the colder months, along with the restrictions due to Covid-19, I want to invite you to join me in a year of LOVE, LETTERS, TEA & COMFORT. I feel that doing this within a community is a wonderful way to build connection until we can gather in a wider circle!

Pen-Pal Guidelines:

One letter a month beginning in February 2022 – January 2023.

Your letter needs to fit in an envelope – no packages, no promotions, no asking for money.

Feel free to send your favorite tea bag, but not necessary.

*Deadline* for sign-ups is February 18th, 2022

Pen-pals will be chosen randomly in mid-February. You will receive a letter from Nicole Donovan outlining “next steps.” Your address will be only shared to your pen-pal. If you have any questions or to sign up, contact Nicole Donovan at nhdwrites@gmail.com
